Zen Ascent is a Technique for Ace, Jest and Delta, obtained by defeating Zen Primus. When used, the player rises into the air with an uppercut, dealing 20 base damage and gaining considerable vertical height. If the player deals damage to an enemy during the attack, they become invulnerable to melee damage until half a second after the uppercut animation ends. The invulnerability will not activate if the attack was blocked.
Strategies
The main benefit of using this technique is the height gained from it allowing the player to easily and quickly traverse vertical levels, primarily effective in Clockzone and Penumbra for their heavy use of vertical chunks near the end of the level. Pairing Zen Ascent and Dolomite Link allows the player to rush through levels at Ludicrous! speeds making them perfect for players using the Imminent Rapture Entropy Condition or going for the time bonus on Daily and Weekly Challenges.
Stage Interactions
- Highvault: Can ignite the tornadoes of Whirlbots and Hoot Omega, dealing damage to enemies caught in it. Also gains additional height when used after touching a Cloud Aura.

- Now grants melee invulnerability frames when damaging an enemy, lasting half a second after the attack animation ends.
- Fixed an issue where the hitbox of Zen Ascent would remain after use, which would happen when using it into a wall.

- Surged version of the Technique was added.
- Zen Ascent now always goes through boss i-frames.
