Arc Beam is a Primary Weapon for Nina. When equipped, it causes Nina's shots to fire diagonally upwards, before falling down in an arc. If a shot hits an enemy while moving down, it deals 1.2x damage.

Trivia

  • Arc Beam appears to be based on the 20XX weapon Rapture (20XX).png Rapture, and has almost exactly the same effect, save for the different charged attack.
  • When combined with any projectile-adding beam, the weapon will act as if firing diagonally upwards and the firing angle will be reduced by half. For weapons that fire backwards, they'll be fired diagonally upwards in the reverse direction.
    • This results in Vertibeam.png Vertibeam firing vertically up and horizontally, instead of vertically down.
    • Aim Beam.png Aim Beam overrides the weapon firing diagonally upwards, but does not override the firing angle. This can make weapons like Retrobeam.png Retrobeam fire vertically when aiming forwards.
  • When combined with Wave Beam.png Wave Beam, the arcing properties of the weapon get negated. The weapon will still deal increased damage when the projectile oscillates downwards.
  • When combined with Seeker Beam.png Seeker Beam, the homing functionality only seems to work when the projectile moves upwards.
  • When combined with Chonk Beam.png Chonk Beam, the slower speed greatly reduces the weapon's effective range.
  • When combined with Sniper Beam.png Sniper Beam, the increased speed causes the weapon to fly far offscreen before even beginning to arc downwards, making the weapon much harder to use.
  • When combined with Rocket Beam.png Rocket Beam, the projectile will start by moving downwards for a bit before accelerating upwards.

History

  • Unknown Version: Shots now correctly rotate when in the air, instead of always facing diagonally down.
  • Early Access 0.40.0: Now deals 12 base damage if it hits after the apex of its arc.
  • Early Access 0.15.0: Released.
