Zen Mortar is a Power for Nina, Vika and Delta. It fires directly up into the air before falling back down and exploding. Using the Power again while the projectile is still in midair will split the projectile in two, both moving perpendicular to the main projectile's direction.

Power Fusions

Zen Mortar's fusion effect, Echo, gives a majority of the weapons it is fused with a secondary function when the button is pressed a second time. Any weapons that might not have such a function will still have a fire motif to them.

  • Crystal Wave (Splintercrystal)
    • 10 NRG cost.
    • Fires a crystal that splits into nine shards when it either hits a wall or the button is pressed again.
    • The initial shot does 50 base damage, and the shards deal 20 base damage.
  • Aiming Gear (Aiming Mortar)
    • 10 NRG cost.
    • Fires a mortar in one of eight directions, following an arc if fired upwards and dealing 50 base damage.
    • On second button press, splits into 8 fiery gears that spread out in all directions, each dealing 20 base damage.
  • Rending Whirl (Zen Vortex)
    • 15 NRG cost.
    • When triggered, instead creates a whirling fire which rains down projectiles, each dealing 40 base damage.
    • Subsequent projectiles deal 5 base damage.
  • Crushing Void (Crushing Twin)
    • 20 NRG cost.
    • Fire a void orb straight forward.
    • Before detonation, the void orb does 70 base damage.
    • When triggered, creates two void orbs that fly vertically and pierce foes, dealing 70 base damage to them.
    • When triggered AGAIN, those void orbs fire off two exploding fireballs that travel in an arc and deal 70 base damage.
  • Negation Pulse (Zen Protector)
    • 12 NRG cost.
    • Summons a heavy statue from above, generating a protective barrier once it hits the ground.
    • When split or after a few seconds, detonates into a spread of 3 fireballs that each deal 40 base damage.
  • Jagged Bolt (Seeking Striker)
    • 5 NRG cost.
    • Release a blue fireball that functions similarly to the Seeking Striker from 20XX.
    • Hold down the button to continuously launch these fireballs.
    • Deals 20 base damage.
  • Autodrone (Zen Heretic)
    • 12 NRG cost.
    • Summons a Zen Heretic that rises upwards. (50 base damage)
    • Hitting the Power button again sends it downwards.
    • On impact, the Heretic splits into 4 orthogonal fireballs. (20 base damage each)

History

  • Early Access 0.35.0:
    • Due to the energy rework, now costs 10 NRG (originally cost 1).
    • Reworked a majority of Zen Mortar's fusions.
    • Fusions now provide the same result regardless of fusion order.
  • Early Access 0.29.0: Added interactions in Penumbra and Dustria.
  • Early Access 0.24.0: Can now be fused with Jagged Bolt.
