Aiming Gear is a Power for Nina, Vika and Delta. It allows the player to fire gear-shaped projectiles in 8 directions which roll along surfaces that they don't directly collide into. Up to three gear projectiles can be on-screen at once, though this limit ignores shots that have been active for more than 1 second.

When used by Delta, the gear cannot be aimed manually. It will automatically aim towards the nearest enemy, even if they're not aligned to the 8 cardinal directions.

Power Fusions

Aiming Gear's fusion effect is Aim; as this should imply, it gives all weapons it is fused with the ability to aim in the eight cardinal directions.

  • Zen Mortar (Aiming Mortar)
    • 10 NRG cost.
    • Fires a mortar in one of eight directions, following an arc if fired upwards and dealing 50 base damage.
    • On second button press, splits into 8 fiery gears that spread out in all directions, each dealing 20 base damage.
  • Crystal Wave (Aiming Crystal)
    • 8 NRG cost.
    • Fires a crystal in any of eight directions that can freeze a single enemy on contact, dealing 20 base damage.
    • If this would defeat an enemy, it keeps on travelling.
    • If this hits a wall, it will create a small block that lasts about 3 seconds.
  • Rending Whirl (Aiming Whirl)
    • 15 NRG cost.
    • A tornado that can be fired in 8 cardinal directions, but only appears on one side of Nina.
    • Deals 15 base damage up to 5 times for 75 total damage.
  • Crushing Void (Crushing Slam)
    • 20 NRG cost.
    • A dashing tackle that can be aimed in 8 directions, dealing 40 base damage, plus 8 base damage per bonus point of run speed.
    • The tackle gives full immunity to all enemies, projectiles, and hazards for its entire duration.
    • Can only be used once in the air, unless it defeats an enemy.
  • Negation Pulse (Negation Gears)
    • 20 NRG cost.
    • A shield of four gears that will orbit the player.
    • Each gear does 20 base damage, and can block a single projectile before disappearing.
  • Jagged Bolt (Divine Gear)
    • 8 NRG cost.
    • Fires a fan of 3 small projectiles at 30-degree angles which home in on enemies and deal 10 base damage each.
  • Autodrone (Twin Fangs)
    • 8 NRG cost.
    • Throws two Gear Rollys; one upwards, one downwards. (25 base damage)
    • The Rollys will stick to floors, ceilings, and walls.
    • The Rollys are also aimable.

Stage Interactions

  • Highvault: Rides the tornadoes generated by Tornado Machines, and deals 999 damage to them.

History

  • Early Access 0.40.0: Removed shot cooldown; instead, it now has an onscreen limit of three gears, similar to how the N-Buster works.
  • Early Access 0.36.0:
    • Cooldown between shots increased to 0.25 seconds (250 ms, up from 37.5 ms).
    • Its Crushing Void fusion is now only usable once in the air. Previously, it could be used infinitely in the air.
  • Early Access 0.35.0:
    • Due to the energy rework, now costs 5 NRG (originally cost 0.5).
    • Reworked a majority of Aiming Gear's fusions.
    • Fusions now provide the same result regardless of fusion order.
  • Early Access 0.29.0: Added interactions in Highvault and Deepverse.
  • Early Access 0.24.0: Can now be fused with Jagged Bolt.
  • Public Demo 2: Released.
