Prototype Augments are unique augments acquired specifically from Very Safe Laboratories. Each Prototype offers a powerful blessing with a significant drawback in return. Most Prototypes are enhanced with 
Prototype Resonator, and their drawbacks can usually be cured with 
System Restore.

Story Prototypes
These Prototypes function similarly to regular Prototypes, but are also tied to story events in the game.
Removed
Originally, Prototypes could appear in two parts - a beneficial Blessing and a detrimental Curse. These were removed from the game and replaced with hand-picked Prototypes in Early Access 0.37.0. Also, a few Singletons were removed from the game alongside two-part Prototypes.

- Early Access 0.50.0:
- Reduced the spawn rate of Very Safe Laboratories, but now they offer a choice of two Prototypes instead of just a single one.
- Removed "Uncertain Blessing". Now, Prototypes just appear directly as an augment.
- Early Access 0.37.0:
- Two-part Prototypes no longer appear. Instead, all Prototypes are now SIngleton-type Prototypes.
- Introduced a lot more Prototypes, including ones based on removed Blessings and Curses.
- Early Access 0.27.0:
- Removed Balances - Prototypes now only generate with a Blessing and a Curse.
- Implemented Singleton-type Prototypes, which have fixed effects.
- Unknown Version: Renamed to "Uncertain Blessing". Previously, it was called "Mixed Blessing".
- Early Access 0.17.0: Released.
