Earthmetal Plating is a Prototype Augment. When obtained, the player has a 25% chance of ignoring incoming damage. However, the player's run speed gets locked at 0, and any equipped Leg Cores have their effects disabled, although they can still contribute to set bonusses. Obtaining multiple copies of this prototype has no additional effect.
With Prototype Resonator, the player has a 33% chance of ignoring incoming damage.
Collecting System Restore will restore the effects of Leg Cores, and restores the player's run speed to normal.
Interactions
- Equipping
Vagrant's Waltz while the player has
Earthmetal Plating will enable the corruption mechanic, but will not increase the player's dash speed. At 33% corruption and above, the player gains an additive 20% base damage boost as normal, but will not gain movement speed. At full corruption, the player's main attack and powers will be jammed, but their dash will remain unchanged.
Earthmetal Plating does not affect damage inflicted by
Burn for Glory,
Gears of Industry, or red vending machines.
- When appearing as an offer from shops and the Smuggler due to the effects of
Madness Fountain, this prototype costs 2 nuts and 1
Scrapbit respectively.
Trivia
Earthmetal Plating is thematically based on the 20XX prototype
Earthmetal Plating, though has a wildly different effect.
