Contractor Beta is a Prototype Augment in the Contractor family of augments. ( Contractor Plus, Contractor Omega, Contractor Beta)

When obtained, it increases all of the player's stats by 2 (20 in the case of max health and energy). Additionally, it grants a universal damage multiplier relative to the player's current health percentage. The multiplier can be as low as 30% (at 0 health) to as high as 120% (at full health). If multiple copies of this prototype are obtained, the player will gain the stat boosts from all copies, but the damage multiplier from their health will remain the same.

With Prototype Resonator, attack and power strength are increased by 3, and maximum health and energy are increased by 30.

Collecting System Restore prevents the damage multiplier from going below 100%, although the player will still need to be sufficiently healthy (at about 80% health or higher) to get the positive multiplier.

Interactions and Synergies

• This pairs especially well with Final Shell, since your HP will always be at 10/10.
• This also pairs well with Top Shelf, as the damage buffs from both Augs will combine when at full HP.
• When appearing as an offer from shops and the Smuggler due to the effects of Madness Fountain, this prototype costs 2 nuts and 1 Scrapbit respectively.

Trivia

• Contractor Beta is based on the 20XX prototype Contractor Beta, and has almost the exact same effect.
• When cured with System Restore, the message that appears is: missing health penalty removed!
