Clockzone

A ominous clockwork tower whose gears turn ever-forward, invaders or not. Home to lethal rhythms that don't even seem to notice you.

Clockzone is a zone in 30XX. It consists of a tower covered in gears, which - similar to a clock - tick exactly once per second.

Gimmicks

Object Description
Gear Platform A set of up to four platforms that rotates along a central point. The central point can be configured to move back and forth. Destination, platform speed, rotation speed and the platforms themselves are variable.
Gear Spike Similar to the gear platform, but with a deadly spike which hurts for 1 Hazard damage when you bump into it. Can be overlayed on top of the Gear Platform to give the illusion of a gear containing both. Bizarrely, moves 4 times slower than a Gear Platform.
Pendulum Platform A platform that moves back and forth along an arc. Starting platform placement, rotation speed and the size of the arc is variable.
Pendulum Spike Like a Pendulum Platform, except the platform is a giant spike ball that'll mess your day up, dealing 1 Hazard damage on touch. (May also mess up certain enemies' days, except it doesn't and the game is lying.) Starting platform placement, rotation speed and the size of the arc is variable.
Waterfall Platforms Platforms appear at the top, and slowly float down toward the designated endpoint, at which point they're gobbled up and sent back to the top. Platform destination, platform speed and the rate at which platforms are created is variable.
Spikes A painful, solid spike that harms the player for 1 Hazard damage on contact. The player cannot wall jump on spikes, even if they have knockback resistance.
Lava Adjustable red rectangle of destruction. Never moves, no matter how hard it tries. It doesn't try very hard, though. Falling into lava will damage the player for 1 Hazard damage, and respawn them on the last safe spot they were on.

SEALING RECORD: "NINA" -- August 4, 2203

In response to mounting global panic about the outcome of Dr. Arlan Flat's weapons work, subject has volunteered to undergo Stasis Sealing to ease international tensions about her capabilities and allegiance.

Depending on who you ask, "Nina" is a beast of many forms. The Russians call her The End Beast, believing her purpose is to assure American military dominance into the 23rd century. Americans call her everything under the sun - a secret Communist, a rogue killer, a sleeper agent in service of a sinister hostile power (reports vary on what power that is, exactly, be it an American secret society, an alien race, Sir Jeffrey VI, etc).

I see a woman who's... tired. Tired of the world's hateful gaze for a combination of things she's not and things she didn't get to choose. I'm not really sure if she's doing this for us, or to escape the identity that's been thrust on her.

Not really my business. I hope things are more peaceful in there than out here.
