Patient Protector is an augment. When obtained, the player will gain 1 tick of progress towards obtaining a barrier every second while in a boss fight. Taking damage will reset this progress, while reaching 20 ticks will grant a barrier that can negate 1 instance of damage. Each additional copy of this augment will cause an additional tick of progress to be given each second, reducing how long it takes to receive the barrier.
Interactions
- Damage inflicted by
Burn for Glory, 
Gears of Industry, or red vending machines will ignore the barrier given by Patient Protector and will not cause the player to lose progress towards obtaining the barrier.
- Incoming damage that is negated will also not cause the player to lose progress towards obtaining the barrier.
- The player can only have 1 barrier at a time. This means that, for example, if the player already has a barrier from
Remnant of Flame, they will not be able to obtain a barrier from Patient Protector until the barrier is lost. - Barriers provided by Patient Protector or other augments take priority over all other damage negation effects except for that of
Gapminder.
