Armor is a temporary health stat that goes past your maximum HP. It is primarily obtained from grey, triangular Armor pickups that grant +20 armor each (+10 for each stack of Armor Spreader.png Armor Spreader).

When picking up Armor from any source, a grey Armor bar will appear at the end of your HP bar. Almost all sources of damage will subtract from your current Armor before touching your current HP.

When hit with Armor, the player does not take knockback. Armor loss is permanent, but more can be gained in its place. Unlike HP, there is no limit to the amount of Armor a player can have at any given time.

Strategies

  • Augments with effects that scale with HP, current or maximum, do not account for Armor.
    • This can be useful when using augments like Top Shelf.png Top Shelf or Contractor Beta.png Contractor Beta in conjunction with large amounts of Armor, such as that granted by Final Shell.png Final Shell.
    • However, this also means that Thorned Hull.png Thorned Hull does not benefit from Armor increases.
  • Armor prevents knockback. This can be exploited to keep Frail Glory.png Frail Glory for longer.
