Hysteria is a Prototype Augment. When obtained, any standard augment the player picks up will be doubled, but any damage inflicted on the player will be tripled. Prototypes will not be doubled.

Collecting System Restore removes the triple-damage penalty, causing the player to recieve normal damage from enemy attacks.

When playing as a Revenant, augments picked up will be tripled, but the player will recieve quadruple damage from enemy attacks.

Trivia

• Hysteria makes a reappearance in 30XX as Flaring Hysteria, with the exact same effect. Additionally, an offshoot called Crushing Hysteria was created, which has a different negative effect.#
• Hysteria is the only Prototype which has a stronger negative effect when playing as a Revenant.
• When cured with System Restore, the message that appears is: Controllable might!
